Alan Dwyer was president of the Old Xavs for three years between 1963 and 1965, and performed many other roles around the club including boundary umpire, selector, recruiter and team manager. Well-respected by all, he was a strong contributor over a long period. Dwyer held the view that the club should be comprised solely of Xavier alumni, which put him at odds with several heavy-hitters at the club.
