Captain of the XVIII and the College in 1905, Herbert 'Bronco' Forrest provided great support for the club in its formative years. Forrest married the daughter of Paddy Mornane, who had sold his paddock to the Jesuits, who then established Xavier College in 1878. Forrest was a very early life member of the club and many of his relatives and descendants have since worn the Red 'n' Black.
