John Sanders was a tremendous player and coach at the Old Xavs. A star onballer in the 1960s, his real estate business in Melbourne's north drew him eventually to St Bernard's, but he returned to the club he loved to coach the 1976 premiership team, pulling the Xavs back on to an upward trajectory.
