Nick Martin is the Man of La Manche, which is the French name for the English Channel.

And Nick is the Man of La Manche because some time next week, he's going to swim it. And for a very good reason: he's raising money for the Portsea Camp.

Nick has been in England for a while now, undergoing some serious training, and his great mate Damien Honan will be crewing the pilot boat, and of course, is one of the sponsors of Nick's swim.

Nick's attempt to cross the 33 km Channel could take somewhere between 7 and 27 hours, depending on conditions.
