Old Xaverians U23 Twos had a splendid season, surprising friend and foe alike with their resilience. This was a team that never quite settled down, plundered and pillaged by the teams above it. They found a game for 95 players over the season, a staggering number.

Today, unfortunately, they ran into AJAX, who came into the competition only in Round 5 and swept aside most opponents with ease. Their season's squad was but 65.

The Red 'n' Blacks ran into the Jackers in Round 13, and went down by 32 points at Gary Smorgon. The teams met again at noon at Whitefriars, and this time, AJAX won by 30 points after the Xavs had pulled withing 14 points midway through the final term.
