Sam Shaw's began their 2018 campaign as they ended last year's assignment, with a narrow, hard-fought win over the Blue and Golds. This time it was De La Salle, who looked dangerous most of the afternoon, and particularly threatening at the lemons when they trailed by just a point.

The Red 'n' Blacks finished the stronger, however, and opened their season account.
