RALPH'S NEW ROLE
O'Shaughnessy is Xavs' Footy GM
Xavs' two remaining U19 outfits played simultaneously and, unfortunately, had the same result: they went down.
The Xavs travelled with some confidence to TH King for their second semi-final stoush with SKOB, but it proved to be a dog day under the wires.
The Rossoneri never hit full stride, appearing to hang in there rather than asserting their authority on the game in a listless performance. In the end, the Kevins edged their way to a bigger lead and punched their ticket for the Grand Final.
Xavs must beat Caulfield Grammarians next Saturday to force a rematch.
The Red 'n' Blacks started fast at the Boss, but by half time, Hampton Rovers had their noses in front. The expected response from the visitors arrived late, in the final term, after the home team had safely secured the victory with a five-goal-to-zip third term.
Andy Batten's boys hit the wall a few weeks early butmust be congratulated for their extraordinary season. Each week they played the 'first' U19 team of their opposition, and in many cases, beat them convincingly. Another great season.
