RALPH'S NEW ROLE
O'Shaughnessy is Xavs' Footy GM
Longtime Old Xaverians will be saddened to learn that Ken Petroff passed away last week, aged 79, following a cardiac arrest.
Ken, known far and wide as 'Skinny', had a playing career at Old Xavs that began in the early 1960s and ended in the early 1980s.
The records show he played 203 games for the Red 'n' Blacks, though some of his contemporaries have claimed he played many more, perhaps twice that.
Ken attended Xavier and graduated in 1960. His brothers also attended Xavier - Richard '57, Douglas '60, and Jeffrey '62 - as did his sons Jamie '88, Michael '92 and David '94.
At this sad time for Joan, for the Petroff family, and for Ken's friends, we offer our sincere condolences to them all.
A Requiem Mass for Ken will be offered tomorrow (Thurs 14 March) at Xavier, commencing at 2:00 pm.
A gathering to celebrate Skinny's life will be held afterwards at the Auburn Hotel.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
