RALPH'S NEW ROLE
O'Shaughnessy is Xavs' Footy GM
One draw and one loss were the outcomes of Sunday's first home contests for the WOX on the Chapel Oval.
Caulfield finished all over the Red 'n' Blacks, turning a two- point half-time deficit into a solid 26 point win.
The WOX looked good in the opening stanza and continued to shade the Fields through the second.
Brodi Harris kicked three for the Gowans Girls, while Sarah Anderson, Gabby Henderson and Sophia Rothfield were probably the pick of the performers.
The WOX will regroup this week ahead of their game against arch-rival SKOB next Sunday.
Goal Kickers: B. Harris 3, A. Rhodes, T. Mant
Best Players: S. Anderson, G. Henderson, S. Rothfield, A. Rhodes, B. Harris, A. Benifer
The WOX, by virtue of their straight kicking, prised a draw from Sunday's home opener. Any score, even a sprayed behind, would have given the Red 'n' Blacks a win, but it was not to be.
Steans Sgarbossa led the way for the home team, with Hannah Barwick kicking half the team's score.
Next Sunday, St Kevin's come on to the Chapel in what should be a ripping contest.
Goal Kickers: H. Barwick 2, G. Purchase, Z. Purcell
Best Players: C. Sgarbossa, M. Jessup, S. Eeles, R. Paul, A. Mauri, R. Percy
