Dashing wingman/forward Campbell Lane will play solely with Old Xaverians in 2025 after calling time on a 92-game career with Collingwood VFL.
Lane, 27, was vice-captain of the Pies and runner-up in that club’s Best and Fairest this season.
He played for the Oakleigh Chargers while still at Xavier, then after a full season there, split his time between the Oaks and Collingwood in 2016.
He made his debut with the Old Xavs in 2017, and has played 32 games, representing the Red ‘n’ Blacks when free of duties with the Magpies.
Lane is a great accumulator. He had 37 touches against Uni Blues at Toorak Park, 14 of these coming in the opening stanza. It was his run and penetration that set the team alight that day.
President Matt Cosgrave said Lane would be a healthy addition to Dan Donati’s team.
“When Campbell has played with us, he has always been fully committed and given plenty. Our seniors are a better team when he plays, and we look forward to having him on the park throughout the season,” Cosgrave said.
