Old Xaverians defeated Caulfield Grammarians at Stradbroke Park to close out the first half of their season, thereby atoning for an early season defeat at the same venue.

It wasn't the prettiest performance of the campaign, but nonetheless, effective enough to secure the points. Xavs led at every change and slammed home their advantage in the final term.

Hamish Brennan, James Langford and Tommy Hart shone in the struggle, ensuring the Red 'n' Blacks hit the halfway point at the top of the table.
