MARCUS ALLAN TAKES NEW ROLE

Two-time Old Xavs premiership player Marcus Allan has been appointed as the club’s full-time Football Operations Manager.

The Football Operations role is multi-faceted, encompassing coach management, player development and various support structures such as physio, fitness training, rehabilitation and insurance.

In addition, the Football Ops Manager will play a large role in player recruitment and retention, the design of the pre-season program, and in conjunction with the coaches, contribute to game style.

“We are delighted to welcome Marcus aboard. He is a deep thinker about our game and has been a much-valued person around our club since he first walked in the door,” OXFC President Matt Cosgrave said.

“Marcus’ role will evolve but we believe his appointment will contribute strongly to our club having the most professionally-run football program in the VAFA.

“Cuz will be responsible for the smooth and effective management and implementation of our entire football program and we are very excited he’s coming aboard.

Marcus Allan played 89 games for the Claret and Stout, commencing in 2010 when he came to the club after stints with the Brisbane Lions in the AFL and Claremont in the WAFL. His brother Pat was the coach of this year’s U19 Reserves premiership team.
