MERRY CHRISTMAS
And all the best for 2025
Club General Manager has advised President Matt Cosgrave that he will step down from the role at the season's end.
He wrote to the Old Xavs community this morning, as follows:
I have advised our President Matt Cosgrave and the committee over the weekend that I will step down from the role of General Manager at the end of the 2018 season.
I have not made this decision lightly as the last four years have been without a doubt the most rewarding of my working life.
However, I want to spend more time with my family, especially watching my children play sport at the weekends. Announcing my decision now gives the committee time to find a suitable replacement.
With the Club’s support I will continue working in the role striving for the best for the Club, whilst they search for a successor.
I would like to thank my Presidents, Bill Denton and Matt Cosgrave and the committee for their support, counsel and guidance through a great period of consolidation for the Club.
Thank-you to our players, coaches, team managers, volunteers, members, corporate and community partners for helping make this Club so great.
It is in safe hands and will no doubt continue to grow as one of the best community sporting clubs in Australia. Finally, a big thank-you to my wife Heather and our family for their unstinting support in allowing me to invest the time and energy I have given to the role over the last four years.
The search for a successor to Simpson will begin immediately.
