There were wild scenes at the Smith on Friday night as the WOX recruits received their guernseys and the new team leaders were announced.

Gabby Golds will lead the Brownies, with Grace Knox and Maddi Sorrenti named as vice-captains. The trio are all entering their their third season with the Red ‘n’ Blacks, and each has a brother playing at the club.

That the appointments were voted on by teammates was not lost on the new skipper Golds, who thanked her teammates for the support, and promised to lead from the front.

Murray Browne, who has enjoyed great success at every level he’s coached, will guide the Brownies, aided by Dylan Barker, while Francine Moodie will take charge of the Reds for the second year running.

Today, the WOX ventured to Garfield to play against Premier outfit Kew Bears. The Frantastics had a big win, while the Brownies rested six of their better players and still pushed Kew hard, Good signs!
